A core of medium blue transparent glass has been partially wrapped in fine silver leaf, then encased in more blue transparent glass. The result is that part of the bead is fully transparent, and part is blocked by the silver. The heat and encasing has changed the colour of some of the silver leaf to gold. Finally, a deep blue transparent has been trailed across the surface of the beads.
The beads have been knotted onto black Greek leather cord, and finished with sterling silver cord ends and lobster clasp.
The overall length of the necklace is approximately 56cm, with the beaded section being 28.5cm (including the knots at each end). The graduated beads range from 8mm diameter to 2cm diameter.
